🔥 Boiling Water with a CPU While Mining Monero? 💻☕
In this video, I try for the second time to boil water using an old Socket 775 CPU while mining Monero at 100% load. Yes… turning computer power into heat power 😄
This time I made some upgrades: 🔧 Added two stainless steel spacers 🧴 Used thermal paste for better heat transfer 🖥️ CPU running at full load mining Monero 🌡️ Tested maximum temperature under stress
The result? Maximum temperature reached around 42°C — better than my previous experiment, but still far from boiling water 😅
Looks like CPU thermal throttling and protection systems don’t allow it to turn into a full cooking device. I even tried covering the bowl with a paper cup to trap heat… but modern processors are smarter than that.
This is another fun hardware experiment where I push old tech to unusual limits.
Can a CPU replace a kettle? Not yet… but we’re getting closer 😄
