In this video, I’m building a DIY flashlight powered by Makita and Makita-compatible batteries. This is a simple, fast, and budget-friendly project, made mostly from spare parts I already had.
💡 I had a 38V LED lamp lying around for a long time and didn’t know what to do with it — until I saw Makita battery flashlights on AliExpress. Instead of buying one, I decided to build my own DIY version.
🛠️ What’s used in this project:
38V LED lamp
DC-DC boost converter (18V → 38V)
Makita battery
Switch
3D printed case (from Printables + custom parts)
📦 The case for this build is 3D printed. Some parts are from Printables, and some were designed and printed by me to make everything fit nicely.
⚡ The DC-DC boost module has been with me for almost 10 years, and finally it found the perfect job! After calibration and assembly, the flashlight works great and has been tested both on video and in real life.
🎥 Most of the video is shown as a timelapse, so you can quickly see the whole build process without boring parts.
👍 If you like DIY electronics, Makita tools, 3D printing, and repurposing old parts — this video is for you!
