The first simple option for setting up a PPTP (VPN) server on Mikrotik via Winbox. In this embodiment, only one client can connect to the server.

Winbox is connected
Activate the server by opening the menu “PPP” – “PPTP Server”, where we check the “Enabled” box.
Add the parameters for connecting to the server, for this, open “PPP” – “Secrets” and add:
Name: USERNAME
Password: PASSWORD
Service: pptp
Local Address: internal IP of the router, for example 192.168.88.1
Remote Address: IP to be assigned to the client, e.g. 192.168.88.2
click OK.
Add a rule to the firewall so that you can connect to the server from outside, for this, open the “IP” – “Firewall” menu and add the rule in the “Filter Rules” tab:
Chain: input
Dst. Address: external IP address of the router
Protocol: tcp
Dst. Port: 1723
In. Interface: WAN port of the router, for example ether1-gateway
Action: accept
click OK, this completes the simple setup.
Checking
Going to VPN setup in Windows 10
Press Add a VPN connection
Fill all requested fields.
When configuration saved, Press connect
If all steps are correct, you will be connected to your Mikrotik VPN server
Mikrotik send WAN IP address to email
Mikrotik using Netwatch to check host availability (ONLINE, OFFLINE) and send email then host up or down
